12.5 KG Rubber Hex Dumbbell

Good training equipment earns its floor space, and the 12.5 KG Rubber Hex Dumbbell is built to do exactly that. It sits in our dumbbells range for South African home gyms, studios and commercial floors.

Stripped of marketing language: this is a dumbbell set for people who train consistently. Stated details include 12.5kg and rubber construction.

Ideal for

It works best for pressing, rowing and accessory work across every level, and studios running class formats. Outside that, there may be a better match in the range — ask us.

Before you install it

Think about storage before quantity. Loose dumbbells on a floor are a hazard and take more space than a rack holding the same set.

Choosing the right one

Hex dumbbells sit flat and will not roll, which matters for push-up variations and for storage.

Against the other 118 dumbbells we stock, this sits in the middle at R615 — the range runs R70 to R90 612, so there is room to move either way if the fit is not right.

Store heaviest at the bottom of a rack. It is safer and easier on the frame.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty dumbbells is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
