Active 2.2M Olympic Bar

Good training equipment earns its floor space, and the Active 2.2M Olympic Bar is built to do exactly that. Made by Active, it sits in our barbells range for South African home gyms, studios and commercial floors.

What you are getting is a barbell designed to be used properly and often. It is listed with 2.2m.

Ideal for

This one suits lifters who want a bar that holds up under load, and home platforms and commercial floors. If that describes your setup, it will earn its place.

Before you install it

Store bars horizontally on a rack or vertically in a holder; leaning them against a wall bends them over time.

Choosing the right one

Knurling and whip decide how the bar feels. Aggressive knurl suits pulling, a moderate knurl is more comfortable for high-rep work.

We stock 68 barbells between R238 and R8 599; this one is in the middle at R2 752.

A light oil on the shaft prevents rust in humid conditions, which matters in coastal areas.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty barbells is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.

Delivery across South Africa is included on every order. Larger items are booked in rather than left at a door, so tell us about stairs, narrow passages or a restricted loading area when you order and we will arrange transport that suits the site.
