Active Motion Lat Pulldown

Choosing cable machines comes down to matching the equipment to how hard it will actually be worked. The Active Motion Lat Pulldown, from Active, is aimed at people who want something that holds up.

Stripped of marketing language: this is a cable machine for people who train consistently. Where a measurement matters to you, ask us and we will confirm it before you order.

Who this is for

It works best for varied resistance work in one footprint, and home gyms replacing several single-purpose machines. Outside that, there may be a better match in the range — ask us.

Installation and space

Measure the space and the route in before ordering. Doorways, corners and stairs are what turn a straightforward delivery into a problem.

What to consider

Think about who will use it and their size range. Adjustability decides how many people find it comfortable.

Against the other 41 cable machines we stock, this sits in the middle at R41 295 — the range runs R41 to R71 920, so there is room to move either way if the fit is not right.

Store or cover it if the space is damp, particularly for anything with a steel frame.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The specifics

• Brand: Active
• Category: Cable Machines
• SKU: MOT 012
• Condition: new unless the listing states otherwise

You will find related equipment under Strength, Attachments, Cable Machines and Functional Trainers — worth a look before deciding.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty cable machines is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
