Athletic 600EFD Advanced Elliptical

The Athletic 600EFD Advanced Elliptical is one of the elliptical trainers options we supply to gyms and home setups across South Africa, made by Athletic. Here is what it does and who it suits.

In plain terms, this is a elliptical trainer intended for regular use rather than occasional. Full specifications are shown on this page and in the product images.

Best suited to

Think home gyms wanting one machine to cover cardio, and low-impact cardio for joints that will not take running. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Fitting it into your space

Check the floor is level and suitable for the load, and leave working clearance around the equipment.

Points to weigh up

Check what is included in the box, and whether accessories are needed to get it working the way you want.

Priced at R10 965, it is the 3rd of 21 elliptical trainers we list (R4 214 to R118 818). Worth comparing before you settle.

Keep it clean and check fixings periodically. Most equipment failures start as something loose rather than something broken.

On how much cardio is actually worth aiming for each week, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty elliptical trainers is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
