Athletic'step Chair

Choosing gym equipment comes down to matching the equipment to how hard it will actually be worked. The Athletic'step Chair, from Athletic, is aimed at people who want something that holds up.

In plain terms, this is a piece of gym equipment intended for regular use rather than occasional. Full specifications are shown on this page and in the product images.

Who this is for

Think training spaces that get daily use. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Installation and space

Check the floor is level and suitable for the load, and leave working clearance around the equipment.

What to consider

Check what is included in the box, and whether accessories are needed to get it working the way you want.

Priced at R20 667, it is the 97th of 105 gym equipment we list (R41 to R116 351). Worth comparing before you settle.

Keep it clean and check fixings periodically. Most equipment failures start as something loose rather than something broken.

For the underlying evidence rather than a summary, the WHO guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behaviour sets out the current recommendations.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty gym equipment is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
