Adjustable Straight & EZ Barbell Set Mx100

Good training equipment earns its floor space, and the Adjustable Straight & EZ Barbell Set Mx100 is built to do exactly that. It sits in our barbells range for South African home gyms, studios and commercial floors.

In plain terms, this is a barbell intended for regular use rather than occasional. The listing states supplied as a set and an adjustable design.

Ideal for

Think home platforms and commercial floors, and barbell work across squats, presses and pulls. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Before you install it

Check the bore matches your plates — Olympic sleeves take 50mm plates, standard bars take 25mm.

Choosing the right one

Bearing bars spin more freely and suit Olympic lifting; bushing bars are usually fine for general strength work.

Priced at R18 871, it is the 52nd of 53 barbells we list (R40 to R36 464). Worth comparing before you settle.

Wipe the bar down after sessions and brush the knurling periodically — chalk and sweat together are what corrode a bar.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty barbells is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
