Olympic Rubber Covered Weight Plates (Tri-Grip)

Good training equipment earns its floor space, and the Olympic Rubber Covered Weight Plates (Tri-Grip) is built to do exactly that. It sits in our weight plates range for South African home gyms, studios and commercial floors.

What you are getting is a weight plate designed to be used properly and often. It is listed with rubber construction.

Ideal for

This one suits expanding an existing weight set, and building out a lifting platform. If that describes your setup, it will earn its place.

Before you install it

Allow floor protection where plates are loaded and unloaded regularly.

Choosing the right one

Rubber or bumper plates can be dropped and protect flooring; cast iron is more compact for the same weight and usually cheaper.

We stock 57 weight plates between R108 and R8 514; this one is in the middle at R476.

Return plates to a tree rather than stacking on the floor — it is safer and easier on the plates.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.

Every order ships free anywhere in South Africa. For heavier pieces we confirm access and offloading before dispatch — worth flagging stairs or tight corners at the time of order rather than on the day.
