Olympic Squat & Deadlift Bar - 1000lb

Choosing barbells comes down to matching the equipment to how hard it will actually be worked. The Olympic Squat & Deadlift Bar - 1000lb is aimed at people who want something that holds up.

What you are getting is a barbell designed to be used properly and often. The images and title carry the detail we publish for this unit.

Who this is for

This one suits lifters who want a bar that holds up under load, and home platforms and commercial floors. If that describes your setup, it will earn its place.

Installation and space

Store bars horizontally on a rack or vertically in a holder; leaning them against a wall bends them over time.

What to consider

Knurling and whip decide how the bar feels. Aggressive knurl suits pulling, a moderate knurl is more comfortable for high-rep work.

We stock 53 barbells between R40 and R36 464; this one is in the middle at R3 230.

A light oil on the shaft prevents rust in humid conditions, which matters in coastal areas.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty barbells is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
