Bulgarian Bags

Choosing weight bags comes down to matching the equipment to how hard it will actually be worked. The Bulgarian Bags, from Tunturi, is aimed at people who want something that holds up.

Stripped of marketing language: this is a weight bag for people who train consistently. Where a measurement matters to you, ask us and we will confirm it before you order.

Who this is for

It works best for loaded carries and conditioning, and strongman-style work. Outside that, there may be a better match in the range — ask us.

Installation and space

Measure the space and the route in before ordering. Doorways, corners and stairs are what turn a straightforward delivery into a problem.

What to consider

Think about who will use it and their size range. Adjustability decides how many people find it comfortable.

Against the other 10 weight bags we stock, this sits in the middle at R884 — the range runs R240 to R1 620, so there is room to move either way if the fit is not right.

Store or cover it if the space is damp, particularly for anything with a steel frame.

For what regular training actually does for you long term, the NHS summary of the health benefits of exercise covers the evidence plainly.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.

Happy to help you compare the Bulgarian Bags against the alternatives, or check it will go through your door. Just ask.
