Choosing exercise bikes comes down to matching the equipment to how hard it will actually be worked. The Foldable Mini Bike, from Tunturi, is aimed at people who want something that holds up.

What you are getting is a exercise bike designed to be used properly and often. It is listed with a folding frame.

Who this is for

This one suits low-impact cardio in a small footprint, and home riders training year round. If that describes your setup, it will earn its place.

Installation and space

Plan for power only if the console needs it — many spin bikes are entirely self-powered.

What to consider

Flywheel weight and resistance type set the ride feel. Heavier flywheels give a smoother, more road-like feel; magnetic resistance runs quieter than friction.

We stock 44 exercise bikes between R689 and R47 740; this one is towards the entry end at R1 080.

Check pedal and crank tightness periodically, and confirm the pedal type suits your shoes.

On how much cardio is actually worth aiming for each week, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

Browsing options? Cardio, Exercise Bikes, Rowing Machines and Gym Flooring are the categories most people compare this against.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.

Every order ships free anywhere in South Africa. For heavier pieces we confirm access and offloading before dispatch — worth flagging stairs or tight corners at the time of order rather than on the day.

Happy to help you compare the Foldable Mini Bike against the alternatives, or check it will go through your door. Just ask.
