Mobile Upright Bumper Plate Rack

If you are putting together a space that has to work every day rather than look good once, the Mobile Upright Bumper Plate Rack is worth a close look. It comes from Tunturi and forms part of our racks lineup.

In plain terms, this is a rack intended for regular use rather than occasional. Full specifications are shown on this page and in the product images.

Who it suits

Think garage gyms built around one central station, and squatting and pressing safely without a spotter. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Getting it in place

Confirm whether the unit needs bolting down. Free-standing racks depend on their footprint and weight for stability; bolted rigs need a suitable floor.

Before you decide

Safety arms or straps are not optional if you train alone. Confirm what is included rather than assuming.

Priced at R5 966, it is the 52nd of 57 racks we list (R108 to R8 514). Worth comparing before you settle.

Check bolts and fixings periodically, particularly after the first few weeks of use as everything settles.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

Key points

• Brand: Tunturi
• Category: Weight Plates
• SKU: MBPR5
• Condition: new unless the listing states otherwise

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.
