Platinum Tr20 Commercial Treadmill

If you are putting together a space that has to work every day rather than look good once, the Platinum Tr20 Commercial Treadmill is worth a close look. It comes from Tunturi and forms part of our treadmills lineup.

In plain terms, this is a treadmill intended for regular use rather than occasional. Full specifications are shown on this page and in the product images.

Who it suits

Think studios and hotel gyms running long daily hours, and home users building a consistent running habit. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Getting it in place

Check ceiling height if the deck is raised, and confirm the delivery route. A treadmill that fits the room but not the doorway is the expensive kind of mistake.

Before you decide

Consider the belt area against stride length. Taller runners need more deck than the headline size suggests, and a cramped belt changes how people run.

Priced at R57 995, it is the 66th of 81 treadmills we list (R796 to R161 777). Worth comparing before you settle.

Keep the belt tracking checked and the deck clean. Most treadmill faults trace back to belt tension and dust rather than electronics.

On how much cardio is actually worth aiming for each week, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.
