Rapid 20kg Adjustable Dumbbell Set + Rack

The Rapid 20kg Adjustable Dumbbell Set + Rack is one of the racks options we supply to gyms and home setups across South Africa, made by Tunturi. Here is what it does and who it suits.

In plain terms, this is a rack intended for regular use rather than occasional. The listing states 20kg, supplied as a set and an adjustable design.

Best suited to

Think garage gyms built around one central station, and squatting and pressing safely without a spotter. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Fitting it into your space

Confirm whether the unit needs bolting down. Free-standing racks depend on their footprint and weight for stability; bolted rigs need a suitable floor.

Points to weigh up

Safety arms or straps are not optional if you train alone. Confirm what is included rather than assuming.

Priced at R13 463, it is the 109th of 118 racks we list (R70 to R90 612). Worth comparing before you settle.

Check bolts and fixings periodically, particularly after the first few weeks of use as everything settles.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty racks is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
