Impulse Ecp101 Shoulder Press

Good training equipment earns its floor space, and the Impulse Ecp101 Shoulder Press is built to do exactly that. Made by Impulse Fitness, it sits in our strength machines range for South African home gyms, studios and commercial floors.

Stripped of marketing language: this is a strength machine for people who train consistently. Where a measurement matters to you, ask us and we will confirm it before you order.

Ideal for

It works best for commercial floors needing guided, repeatable movement, and isolating a muscle group safely under load. Outside that, there may be a better match in the range — ask us.

Before you install it

Confirm the footprint and the working envelope. Guided machines need clearance for the movement arm as well as the frame, and that is often overlooked.

Choosing the right one

Look at adjustability — seat, pad and start position. A machine that fits a wide range of body sizes gets used far more.

Against the other 210 strength machines we stock, this sits in the middle at R33 434 — the range runs R1 120 to R49 665, so there is room to move either way if the fit is not right.

Periodically check that the stack pin and selector move freely — a sticking pin is the most common member complaint.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

If you are planning a full setup, Strength, Free Weights, Weight Plates and Commercial Strength are the sections that usually go with this.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.

If you want the Impulse Ecp101 Shoulder Press checked against your setup before you commit, get in touch. We would rather spend five minutes on measurements than arrange a return.
