Impulse Ecp625 Kneel Glute Kickback

Choosing strength machines comes down to matching the equipment to how hard it will actually be worked. The Impulse Ecp625 Kneel Glute Kickback, from Impulse Fitness, is aimed at people who want something that holds up.

Stripped of marketing language: this is a strength machine for people who train consistently. Where a measurement matters to you, ask us and we will confirm it before you order.

Who this is for

It works best for commercial floors needing guided, repeatable movement, and isolating a muscle group safely under load. Outside that, there may be a better match in the range — ask us.

Installation and space

Confirm the footprint and the working envelope. Guided machines need clearance for the movement arm as well as the frame, and that is often overlooked.

What to consider

Look at adjustability — seat, pad and start position. A machine that fits a wide range of body sizes gets used far more.

Against the other 210 strength machines we stock, this sits in the middle at R35 560 — the range runs R1 120 to R49 665, so there is room to move either way if the fit is not right.

Periodically check that the stack pin and selector move freely — a sticking pin is the most common member complaint.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.
