Impulse It9501 Chest Press – 90kg (200lbs)

The Impulse It9501 Chest Press – 90kg (200lbs) is one of the strength machines options we supply to gyms and home setups across South Africa, made by Impulse Fitness. Here is what it does and who it suits.

In plain terms, this is a strength machine intended for regular use rather than occasional. The listing states 90kg.

Best suited to

Think gyms training members who are new to free weights, and commercial floors needing guided, repeatable movement. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Fitting it into your space

Check the delivery route carefully. Strength machines are heavy and awkward, and access is usually the constraint rather than the room itself.

Points to weigh up

Cables, pulleys and guide rods are the wear parts. Check they are replaceable and that spares are available locally.

Priced at R35 259, it is the 186th of 210 strength machines we list (R1 120 to R49 665). Worth comparing before you settle.

Keep guide rods clean and lightly lubricated, and check cables for fraying on a schedule. Cable failure under load is the risk worth preventing.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

Browsing options? Sale, Strength, Upper Body Machines and Commercial Strength are the categories most people compare this against.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.
