Impulse Itf8404 Roman Bench

The Impulse Itf8404 Roman Bench is one of the benches options we supply to gyms and home setups across South Africa, made by Impulse. Here is what it does and who it suits.

In plain terms, this is a bench intended for regular use rather than occasional. Full specifications are shown on this page and in the product images.

Best suited to

Think garage gyms building around a rack, and pressing, rowing and accessory work at home or in a facility. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Fitting it into your space

Confirm the pad height against your rack J-hooks. A mismatch there changes the press position and is awkward to work around later.

Points to weigh up

If the bench adjusts, check how easily the ladder or pop-pin moves under load, and how many positions it actually offers between flat and upright.

Priced at R4 940, it is the 17th of 210 benches we list (R1 120 to R49 665). Worth comparing before you settle.

Wipe the upholstery down after sessions. Sweat is what degrades vinyl, and a torn pad is the usual reason a bench gets replaced before its frame is worn.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty benches is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
