Impulse Sl7016 Dumbbell Rack

Choosing racks comes down to matching the equipment to how hard it will actually be worked. The Impulse Sl7016 Dumbbell Rack, from Impulse Fitness, is aimed at people who want something that holds up.

In plain terms, this is a rack intended for regular use rather than occasional. Full specifications are shown on this page and in the product images.

Who this is for

Think garage gyms built around one central station, and squatting and pressing safely without a spotter. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Installation and space

Confirm whether the unit needs bolting down. Free-standing racks depend on their footprint and weight for stability; bolted rigs need a suitable floor.

What to consider

Safety arms or straps are not optional if you train alone. Confirm what is included rather than assuming.

Priced at R12 113, it is the 63rd of 210 racks we list (R1 120 to R49 665). Worth comparing before you settle.

Check bolts and fixings periodically, particularly after the first few weeks of use as everything settles.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The specifics

• Brand: Impulse Fitness
• Category: Commercial Strength
• SKU: SL7016
• Condition: new unless the listing states otherwise

Browsing options? Strength, Free Weights, Dumbbells and Benches are the categories most people compare this against.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.

Every order ships free anywhere in South Africa. For heavier pieces we confirm access and offloading before dispatch — worth flagging stairs or tight corners at the time of order rather than on the day.
