UBench V7.0u LED Recumbent Bike

If you are putting together a space that has to work every day rather than look good once, the UBench V7.0u LED Recumbent Bike is worth a close look. It comes from UBench and forms part of our exercise bikes lineup.

In plain terms, this is a exercise bike intended for regular use rather than occasional. Full specifications are shown on this page and in the product images.

Who it suits

Think home riders training year round, and spin studios and group classes. Those are the situations where this piece makes the most sense.

Getting it in place

Check the floor. Bikes concentrate weight on four small feet, so a mat protects both the surface and the machine.

Before you decide

Look at the drive system — belt drives are quieter and need less maintenance than chains.

Priced at R35 607, it is the 49th of 61 exercise bikes we list (R3 354 to R110 618). Worth comparing before you settle.

Keep the frame and flywheel wiped down. Sweat corrodes bolts and bearings faster than use does.

On how much cardio is actually worth aiming for each week, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

The practical gap between light and heavy-duty exercise bikes is not the badge, it is the rating: frame gauge, bearing quality and how easily wear parts can be replaced. Buying slightly above your current needs is almost always cheaper than replacing early.
