UBench Vertical Bench 2

The UBench Vertical Bench 2 is one of the benches options we supply to gyms and home setups across South Africa, made by UBench. Here is what it does and who it suits.

Stripped of marketing language: this is a bench for people who train consistently. Where a measurement matters to you, ask us and we will confirm it before you order.

Best suited to

It works best for pressing, rowing and accessory work at home or in a facility, and commercial floors needing benches that survive daily use. Outside that, there may be a better match in the range — ask us.

Fitting it into your space

Check the footprint against your rack and platform. A bench needs room to load and unload plates either side, not just space for the frame itself.

Points to weigh up

Look at the frame gauge and the welds rather than the upholstery. That is what carries the load, and it is what separates a home bench from a commercial one.

Against the other 108 benches we stock, this sits in the middle at R20 667 — the range runs R1 996 to R29 929, so there is room to move either way if the fit is not right.

Rubber feet protect flooring and stop the bench walking during heavy sets — worth checking they are intact.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than the finish.
