Vanguard Fitness Rubber Coated Olympic Weight Plate

Every gym has a piece of kit that quietly does most of the work. For a lot of setups the Vanguard Fitness Rubber Coated Olympic Weight Plate is that piece, and Vanguard Fitness built it for the job.

What you are getting is a weight plate designed to be used properly and often. It is listed with rubber construction.

A good fit for

This one suits expanding an existing weight set, and building out a lifting platform. If that describes your setup, it will earn its place.

Setup notes

Allow floor protection where plates are loaded and unloaded regularly.

Worth thinking about

Rubber or bumper plates can be dropped and protect flooring; cast iron is more compact for the same weight and usually cheaper.

We stock 57 weight plates between R108 and R8 514; this one is in the middle at R1 098.

Return plates to a tree rather than stacking on the floor — it is safer and easier on the plates.

For context on how often adults should be training muscle groups, the World Health Organization physical activity guidelines are a sensible, independent starting point.
