Do smart treadmills need a subscription?
Some do, most do not. The machine works fully without one; the subscription buys guided content. Zwift, Kinomap and most branded apps charge monthly, while basic data tracking through free apps costs nothing.
This is the number people forget when comparing prices. A monthly subscription over five years is a substantial sum, and it is entirely possible to pay more in fees than the difference between two machines. Work out the five-year figure before deciding which is cheaper.
