Collection: Impulse Fitness Commercial Gym Equipment

Impulse Fitness is the commercial line in our catalogue. If you are equipping a gym that will run twelve hours a day rather than a spare room at home, this is the range to start with. Impulse Fitness commercial gym equipment is specified for continuous use — heavier frames, better bearings, commercial upholstery and wear parts that can be replaced rather than requiring the whole machine to be scrapped.

What the Impulse Fitness range covers

The bulk of the range sits in commercial strength. That covers pin-loaded selectorised machines, plate loaded machines, upper body machines such as chest press, lat pulldown and row stations, and lower body machines including leg press, leg extension, leg curl and hip stations. Impulse cable machines and functional trainers cover the open-floor training areas that most modern gyms now build their timetable around.

On cardio, Impulse supplies treadmills, exercise bikes, ellipticals, spin bikes and steppers and climbers rated for club environments. Storage racks and benches round out the floor.

Who Impulse Fitness gym equipment suits

Impulse is for commercial buyers: franchise gyms, independent clubs, estate and corporate facilities, hotel fitness centres, university and school gyms, and physiotherapy or rehabilitation practices that see members through the day. It is also the right call for a serious home gym where several people train hard and the equipment will see far more than domestic use.

It is overspecified for a household that trains three times a week. If that is you, the home gear packages and the multi gyms and all-in-one trainers ranges give you far more equipment for the same money.

Specifying a commercial floor

Commercial and home equipment differ mainly in duty cycle — how many hours a day the frame, bearings and upholstery are designed to take. Equipment built for occasional use will usually survive a home routine comfortably but will not last on a busy floor, and the difference shows in the parts you cannot see rather than in the finish.

Plan the floor before you plan the equipment list. Selectorised stations need clear entry and exit paths and are what new members gravitate to; plate loaded stations take more space per user but cost less per station and are what experienced lifters ask for. Cable and functional trainer areas need working clearance on all sides, not just the frame footprint.

Ask about spare parts and service before you order, not after. On a commercial floor the question is never whether a cable, bearing or pad will wear — it is how quickly you can replace it and whether the station has to come out of service while you wait.

Underneath all of it, specify the floor properly. Rubber tiles or rolls in the free weight and plate loaded areas protect both the slab and the equipment; see gym flooring and flooring for what we stock.

Common questions

How many stations do I need per member? It depends on peak-hour attendance rather than total membership. Map your busiest hour, then work backwards — queues at peak are what members actually complain about and what cancellations follow. Send us the numbers and the floor plan and we will work through it with you.

Selectorised or plate loaded? Selectorised is faster between sets and more approachable for new members. Plate loaded costs less per station and is what experienced lifters ask for. Most successful floors carry both, weighted toward whichever membership you are actually recruiting.

Can I mix Impulse with other brands? Yes, and most floors do. Match the duty rating rather than the badge — a commercial-rated station from another range will sit alongside Impulse perfectly well, while a home-rated one will fail early regardless of who made it.
